Panel 1. Multimodality and supply chains disruptions: Role of the Freight forwarders

New routes and shifting flows of goods. How can freight forwarders overcome these constraints to offer competitive products to their customers?

 

MODERATOR: Turgut ERKESKIN

  Mr. Turgut Erkeskin is Senior Vice President of FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) and the Deputy Chairman of the Logistics Business Council of DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey). He is also Assembly Member of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, representing the transportation and logistics industry.
He served as the president of UTIKAD – Association of International Forwarding and Logistics Service Providers between 2010 and 2016.

Boril Ivanov

 

  Dr. Boril Ivanov is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of NSBS. Currently, a member of Working Group Sea of FIATA and a member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London. He has been working in the field of waterway and multimodal transportation and logistics since 1989.

 

  Mr. Mark Bromley is a FIATA MTI Chair, Freight Forwarder for over 35 years with a wide range of experience in Road, Air, Rail, and Sea freight movements, currently living and working in Kazakhstan developing an office for Company. Involved in BIFA since 2002 and have then represented BIFA in CLECAT and FIATA, realizing the importance of trade associations in developing and assisting other freight forwarders.

 

  Mr. Ole A. Hagen, FIATA Vice president and FIATA WG RAIL Chair, Business and Policy Director, NHO (Norwegian Confederation of Enterprises and Business) —Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association. Chairman of the Board: Inistute of Transport Economics / NHO Logistics and Transport / Vice President FIATA / Board member of Research Council Norway and Short Sea Shipping

 

 

Alexander Atanassov is a leader with background in ocean shipping, shipping, logistics and maritime business. Possess 20+ years’ experience on various sales, commercial, procurement and operational leadership positions, experienced in people management. Hi career in maritime started in 1995 and have been working for BULCOM, MAERSK.
Presently is Director Ocean & Air Transport Solutions reshaping the ocean and air transport portfolio. Member of Board of Directors of fastest growing transport company in South East Europe.

 

Marius Cae is President of the Freight Forwarders Association of Romania - USER, Vice-president within the Board of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) for fours years and Vice-president of the Commercial Services Committee for carriers of the International Road Transport Union (IRU). He has 60 years professional experience in the field of transports

 

 

Panel 2. Digitalization of logistics: opportunities and challenges

Business process efficiency through digitalization. How the implementation of the e-FTI regulation, e-FBL, and e-CMR can lead to improvements in this direction, and what will be the impact of the cyber security issues?

 

MODERATOR: Iavor PANTALEEV

  Mr. Yavor Pantaleev is Vice Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS), and in the period 2018 - 2021 he was its Chairman. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of EUROSPED.

  Mr. Blagovest Kirilov is Deputy Minister of e-Governance, an entrepreneur in the field of information technologies and outsourced services, as well as a teacher at the Technical University - Sofia

 

  Ms. Andrea Tang leads the International Trade and Law Unit at FIATA and she is responsible for legal matters across the work of the Federation, including the FIATA Digital Strategy work. In addition, she looks after the Federation’s policy work across the various modes of transport (air, maritime, rail, road) as well as on trade facilitation and customs.

 

  Ms. Olga Wassilewska is a member of the NSBS Control Board since 2021. Majority owner and manager in MW LOGISTICA, Olga Vasilevska is a third generation forwarder. With a main focus in the development of its own grouping lines, the company manages the supply chains of over 200 Bulgarian and international companies, taking care of their supplies, logistics and procurement processes.

 

  Mr. Asparuh Koev is Transmetrics’ Co-Founder and CEO and a successful serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience servicing the transport & logistics sector. Prior to Transmetrics, Asparuh founded several companies including IntelliCo Solutions, which focused on the cargo transport industry. Among its customers, IntelliCo Solutions has Fortune 500 clients delivering IT projects within the $1-20 million range. Asparuh has a combination of technical and business backgrounds. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) and an MBA from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium (with Great Distinction.)

 

  Mr. Krasimir Kotsev has many years of experience as Cybersecurity Expert, and extensive knowledge of Information Security, Vulnerability Assessment, Vulnerability Management, and Network & System security hardening. He is the founder of the cybersecurity company SoCyber

 

 

Panel 3. Sustainable logistics: “Green deal” - consequences and challenges

Is there clarity on how its implementation will influence everyday operations and what challenges have to be overcome?

 

MODERATOR: Milena Angelova

  Dr. Milena Angelova has been serving as Secretary-General of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association since 2002 and as SGI Europe Vice-President since 2011. She’s been a Member of the European Economic and Social Committee since 2007, EESC Vice-President in charge of Budget 2018-2020 and Employers’ Group Vice-President 2010-2018. Member of the Bulgarian Economic and Social Committee since 2006 and is well known as an active participant in the policy–making processes in Bulgaria. Recently, Dr. Angelova was appointed Bulgarian SME Envoy.

  Ms. Baiba Miltoviča has been appointed in 2020 President of the “Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and Information Society” Section (TEN) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). At the same time, Ms Miltovica serves as the International and EU Affairs Adviser of the Latvian National Association for Consumer Protection (LPIAA) and actively co-operates with the European Consumer Organization (BEUC) on the European Commission Horizon 2020 and DG Justice and Consumers projects. She is member of the European Consumer Consultative Group (ECCG) of the European Commission, subgroup on Energy and Sub-Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI), connected products and other new challenges in product safety.

 

  Mr. Peter Vitanov is Head of the Delegation of the Bulgarian Socialists in the EP. Coordinator of the Committee on Transport and Tourism. Member of Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. Substitute member in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. Member of Parliament at the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria /2017 - 2019/.

 

  Ms. Nicolette van der Jagt is the Director-General of CLECAT, the European organization of Logistics Service Providers and Freight Forwarders, since 2012. CLECAT is a Brussels based association with a collective membership of more than 19.000 companies in freight forwarding, logistics and customs services through its 24 national associations. Previously, Nicolette was for 10 years Secretary General of the Brussels based European Shippers’ Council representing the national and international freight interest of industry. Through this experience she has knowledge of freight transport in all modes in transport. Nicolette holds degrees in international relations and European studies from the Universities of Utrecht (NL) and Strasbourg (FR).
