NSBS continues national partnership with vocational high schools to develop training in forwarding and logistics

The Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS) held a working meeting with teachers from vocational high schools from different regions of the country, who train students in the profession "Forwarder - Logistician" and have planned admission in the 2026/2027 academic year in the new professions "Forwarding Services" and "Logistics Services".

The main goal of the meeting was to launch a sustainable partnership between the NSBS and vocational schools to improve the quality of vocational education and better prepare future specialists in the field of transport, forwarding and logistics.

During the discussion, the current challenges in teaching vocational subjects, the need for a closer connection between the curriculum and real business practice, as well as the opportunities for joint initiatives between education and business were discussed.

One of the most important results of the meeting is the agreement reached to begin the development of modern teaching aids in the main professional disciplines. It is planned to prepare both theoretical materials and collections of practical cases for each subject, developed jointly by teachers and experts from practice. The goal is for students to acquire not only the necessary knowledge, but also skills to solve real professional situations.

The participants also agreed on the need to organize specialized training for teachers aimed at applying the case method in transport, forwarding and logistics training. This approach will support the development of practical competencies and will make the learning process even closer to the real work environment.

Other initiatives discussed included the organization of guest lectures with experts from the NSBS and business, the development of student competitions in professional training, assistance in providing demonstration versions of specialized software for educational purposes, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation with employers.

Special attention was also paid to the problems in implementing the dual form of training, with the participants exchanging ideas for improving the interaction between schools and businesses in order to ensure better practical training for students.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue the cooperation between the NSBS and the vocational high schools in the long term by creating joint working groups, developing educational resources, organizing training and implementing initiatives aimed at modernizing vocational education.

The NSBS will continue to actively support the vocational high schools in the preparation of highly qualified young specialists who will meet the modern needs of the transport, forwarding and logistics sector and the expectations of employers.
