Bulgaria is represented in this year's prestigious international Young Logistics Professionals (YLP) Award, organised by FIATA (the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations) with the support of TT Club.
The Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS) nominated nominated Miss Hristina Yaneva, who represented Bulgaria by presenting a paper on the topic 'Operational and Regulatory Challenges in the Multimodal Transport of Heavy Industrial Machinery'.
This topic examines one of the most complex areas of modern transport and forwarding activities: the organisation of the multimodal transport of heavy industrial machinery, and the related operational and regulatory challenges.
In recognition of her participation, Mrs Hristina Yaneva officially received a diploma and a gift from the organisers, FIATA and TT Club. For NSBS, her participation is a source of pride and further evidence of the professional potential of young specialists in the Bulgarian freight forwarding and logistics sector.
What is the Young Logistics Professionals Award?
It is an international competition aimed at developing and promoting young professionals in the freight forwarding, transport and logistics industries. National associations – members of FIATA – participate in the competition, with each association having the opportunity to nominate a candidate.
The competition enables young professionals to showcase their knowledge, analytical abilities, and capacity for devising practical solutions to the real challenges that international trade and logistics face. Candidates must write a professional research paper on a current topic related to the operational, regulatory and commercial aspects of transport and logistics activities.
The YLP Award is much more than a writing competition. FIATA and TT Club define it as an opportunity for young professionals to share their knowledge, meet leading industry representatives, build international professional contacts, and be recognised for their potential.
The competition has a long history – TT Club has supported the initiative since its inception in 1998. Initially known as the Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year Award (YIFFYA), the competition was later renamed the Young Logistics Professionals Award to encompass the wider spectrum of professions and specialisations in the modern logistics industry.
The final will take place in Milan in October 2026.
This year's competition will reach its next stage during the FIATA World Congress in Milan, which is particularly significant as it marks FIATA's 100th anniversary.
Three regional winners, from Europe, Asia and the Pacific, and Africa and the Middle East, will present their designs to an international audience of freight forwarding and logistics professionals. The final score will be determined by the expert jury's assessment and the Congress participants' vote during the special YLP session on 8 October 2026. The winner of the global competition will be announced on the same day at the World Congress gala dinner.
Participation in the YLP Award provides young professionals with prestige and international recognition, as well as the opportunity to join the global professional community of FIATA and develop their knowledge, skills, and contacts.
NSBS is proud to support Miss Hristina Yaneva in the YLP Award and wishes her success in her professional development!
We hope that in 2027 NSBS will again have its nomination in the Young Logistics Professionals Award and will continue to support young professionals who are the future of the Bulgarian freight forwarding and logistics industry.
