The 16th SEEFF Congress was held in Bucharest, Romania, in combination with the FIATA REU Field Meeting 2026, one of the most important international events for the freight forwarding, transport and logistics industry in South-Eastern Europe, from 18 to 20 May 2026. The forum was organized by the Romanian freight forwarding association USER in cooperation with the South-East European Freight Forwarders Association (SEEFF) and FIATA Region Europe (REU), under the motto “United for Regional Progress in Logistics”.
The event brought together representatives of national freight forwarding associations, international organizations, European institutions, logistics companies and experts from all over Europe and the Caspian Sea region. Among the participants were representatives of FIATA, CLECAT, IATA, UIRR, ESPORG, TAPA EMEA, the European Commission, the Port Authority of Constanta and other leading organizations in the sector.
The congress program included a series of high-level panels and discussions dedicated to security and risk management in supply chains, the development of intermodal and transport corridors in Central and Southeastern Europe, digitalization and new European regulations, sustainability and decarbonization in logistics, as well as the future of multimodal transport.
Particular emphasis was placed on topics such as eFTI, Mobility Package, Green Deal, TEN-T corridors, the development of the Middle Corridor, cybersecurity, prevention of fraud in transport and the adaptation of freight forwarding companies to increasing regulatory and technological requirements.
The Bulgarian National Freight Forwarding Association (NSBS) was represented in the congress by Tsvetin Todorov – Chairman of the Management Board of NSBS, Dr. Ivan Petrov – Deputy Chairman of NSBS and Chairman of SEEFF, as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Momchil Antov – Director of NSBS. Within the framework of the forum, Dr. Ivan Petrov moderated the panel "Intermodal transport and regional connectivity – Development of transport corridors in the Central and South – Eastern Europe", and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Momchil Antov moderated the panel "Navigating the multitude of regulations – How freight forwarding companies are adapting to evolving regulations".
As the SEEFF secretariat, NSBS continues to actively maintain communication and coordination between freight forwarding associations from South-Eastern Europe, promoting regional cooperation, exchange of good practices and common initiatives in the field of transport, logistics and international trade.
Official meetings of FIATA Region Europe and SEEFF were also held within the framework of the congress, dedicated to the main challenges facing the sector, the need for better connectivity and infrastructure in the region, digital transformation and sustainable development of logistics chains. Representatives of the SEEFF member freight forwarding associations signed a joint declaration addressing the main problems facing the sector to a number of national and international authorities and institutions.
The forum reinforced the role of Southeastern Europe as a strategic logistics region and highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between businesses, professional organizations and institutions in a dynamically changing international environment.
